漆には、金継ぎに代表されるように、自然と、文化や暮らしを繋ぎ合わせることが可能です。美しい漆の工芸品はガラスケースに入れられて静かに楽しむものになりがちです。
漆祭で、漆に触れて、使って、食べて、遊ぶ「もっと気軽に、もっと楽しく、ワイワイ騒ぎながら漆を楽しむ日」を一緒に作りましょう。

To mark this occasion, exhibitions, talks, tours, and other events related to Urushi (Japanese lacquer) will take place around the world—rediscovering the possibilities of craftsmanship and creating opportunities for people of all generations to encounter the beauty of Urushi.
Urushi, as seen in the art of kintsugi (repairing ceramics with Urushi and gold), has the power to connect nature, culture, and daily life. Yet, beautiful Urushi crafts are often confined to glass cases, admired only from afar.
Through the Urushi Festival, let’s touch, use, taste, and play with Urushi—creating a lively day where everyone can enjoy Urushi more freely, more joyfully, and together.
