自然環境とのつながりや、人間の時間軸的背景への畏怖や敬意を表現しようとする時に「最適で最高の素材が森の血である漆だ」と大川さんは語ります。
大川さんは漆芸をベースにデザイナーとして、テクノロジーと手仕事を横断して、日常で使用される食器やインテリアの中にも、地球や時間という人智を超えた存在への気づきを感じられる作品制作をされています。本展では、新たな素材と技術に漆の無限の表現を組み合わせることによって生まれたプロダクトをメインに発表を行います。

Mr. Okawa says, “When trying to express our connection to the natural environment, or our awe and reverence for humanity’s temporal background, lacquer — the blood of the forest — is the most optimal and sublime material.” As a designer grounded in urushi (Japanese lacquer art), he bridges technology and craftsmanship, creating tableware and interior pieces for everyday life that evoke an awareness of the Earth and of time — entities that transcend human intellect. In this exhibition, he will present products that embody the infinite expressive potential of lacquer, born from the fusion of new materials and technologies.
